About the Course
This 1-month Kids Coding program introduces children to the world of programming through visual blocks and fun projects. Using the Scratch editor, learners will understand core coding concepts and build interactive games while developing creativity and logical thinking.
Course Objectives
- Introduce basic programming concepts using visual blocks.
- Teach how to use the Scratch editor and sprites.
- Practice coding commands to control actions, events, and motion.

Duration & Schedule

Course Outline (Weekly Plan)
Week 1 — Coding Basics & Scratch Intro
- What is coding? Simple examples and unplugged activities
- Introduction to Scratch: interface, sprites, stage, and blocks
- Basic motion and look blocks: moving, turning, and changing costumes
- Hands-on: Make a sprite move and talk
Week 2 — Coding Commands & Events
- Understanding commands: sequencing and order of execution
- Events and broadcasting messages between sprites
- Using control blocks: loops and conditional statements (if/else)
- Hands-on: Create an animated story with events
Week 3 — Interactivity & Game Logic
- Sensing blocks: keyboard, mouse, and sprite interactions
- Scoring, timers, and simple game mechanics
- Adding sound effects and visual feedback
- Hands-on: Build a simple catch-the-item or maze game
Week 4 — Build Games with Scratch & Share
- Designing levels and improving gameplay
- Debugging and testing: find-and-fix approach
- Final project: Finish and polish a playable game
- Share projects on Scratch and present to the class
Assessment & Certificate
Kids will be assessed through fun mini-tasks and their final game project. Every participant receives a Kids Coding Completion Certificate and a shareable link to their Scratch project.
